Beginner’s Guide to Flyboarding
Dec 14, 2022
If you enjoy water sports and spending time on the beach, you’ve probably heard of Flyboards, which have been around since 2012. Flyboards are the safer and easier version of jet packs, except that you wear them like a board and use them in marina parks or at the beach. They were invented and popularized by a French watercraft rider named Franky Zapata.
What Exactly is Flyboarding?
A flyboard appears to be a board that allows you to fly over the waves rather than surf on them. It appears to be a hoverboard with a jetpack underneath. Simply put, it is a board that allows you to fly over water by using water. Aside from the board, you’ll need something to push the water up, which is done by a personal watercraft. Once you’re up and running, you’ll need to practice keeping your balance and control. It is very fast and maneuverable, so it takes some practice before you can use it for fun.
How Does it Work?
Consider the vertical and beneath your feet propulsion power of a Jet Ski. That is the most basic and common flyboard setup. The flyboard is connected to a hose, which is responsible for transporting the high-pressure water pumped from the other end and out beneath your feet to produce enough propulsion to lift your weight off the water. The user can fly up to 30 to 35 feet above the water! Because the flyboard is extremely user friendly, it does not require weeks or days of training to try it out.
How Long Does it Take to Learn?
It’s easier than you think to learn how to use the Flyboard. Almost anyone can start flying the Flyboard in their first 5 minutes in the water with a good set of proper instructions. After only 20 minutes, you should be able to control your movements in the water. Some people have a natural ability and a faster learning curve, but almost everyone will have a great time on their first ride, and it only gets better with each ride. The majority of people have discovered that they are twice as good on their second ride.
How Safe is Flyboarding?
The short answer is yes, but you must always exercise caution. They do not explode or fly too high to be dangerous, but if you do not carefully follow the instructions, you will most likely be injured. They are generally considered to be as safe as most other watersports, so you have nothing to worry about.
The most important safety precaution is to be trained. They are very simple to learn, and you can start having fun in minutes. To avoid discomfort if you fall head first into the water, you should wear a helmet. You will not fall off because you will be strapped to the board and, even then, you will be wearing a life jacket. Flyboards are lightweight and simple to use.
Flyboarding is not permitted on all beaches because it is new and not widely known. However, there are numerous water parks and beaches in Dubai that offer Flyboarding.
